Fine Motor Development
Ages 1 to 3 years
This engaging afterschool class is designed to support the development of fine motor skills in children ages 14 months to 3 through fun, hands-on activities. Young learners will explore a variety of age-appropriate tasks that strengthen hand and finger muscles, improve coordination, and build early independence.
Strong muscle development in the fingers is essential for holding and gripping a pencil, which in turn supports early writing skills. This class focuses on building those foundational skills in a playful and developmentally appropriate way.
Activities include drawing, coloring, playing with clay and sensory materials, threading, stacking, sorting small objects, and completing simple puzzles. Through guided play, children will also enhance their focus, creativity, and confidence.
The class provides a nurturing and supportive environment where children can learn at their own pace while developing essential skills for early writing, self-care tasks, and everyday activities.
