Building strong readers—one sound at a time

Welcome to Phonics & Spelling Bees, a skills-focused afterschool class where early learners explore the exciting world of letters, sounds, and words through creative games, hands-on writing, and playful challenges.

This class is designed specifically for children aged 4 to 6, blending phonics instruction with interactive spelling and writing tasks that build foundational literacy and confidence, without ever feeling like “work.”

Each week, children will:

• Explore new letter sounds through movement, visuals, and games
• Practice forming letters and writing simple words
• Match sounds to pictures, helping grow vocabulary and memory
• Play fun spelling games that turn practice into play
• Grow their reading confidence in a warm, supportive group environment

Every session is crafted to reinforce phonetic knowledge and gently introduce spelling, using methods that engage both the hands and the imagination.

Our Learning Journey

Over the 10-week programme, we follow a carefully designed path that introduces key letter sounds in a developmentally appropriate sequence. Children learn to blend, spell, and write as they go through theme-based games, picture cues, and group challenges.

Each week builds on the last, giving your child a structured, yet fun and lively experience that helps them become more confident with the sounds and words they’ll need as early readers.

While the specific weekly content is part of our proprietary curriculum, families can expect:

• Regular review of previously learned sounds
• A strong focus on consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) word building
• Age-appropriate writing tasks and spelling practice
• Ongoing progress through engaging, multi-sensory activities
