Michael Jackson Style Dance

This term our older children revive the magic of iconic music and dance superstar Michael Jackson, working on three special songs from his massive repertoire:
• Thriller
• Do You Remember The Time?
• Ghost
Our song selection offers our wonderful teacher (and No.1 Michael Jackson fan!) the opportunity to cover a really wide range of dance moves, choreography and eras in Michael Jackson’s discography.
We have selected music that will take us through from late summer to the Halloween season and into early winter, and we know our dancers are going to love it!

Each week the children will enjoy learning to stretch and pose, and dance steps and choreography that build gradually.
Children who attend regularly may be able to enjoy a performance for parents on November 30th.

Jonathan Britton (England, UK)
When you first meet Jonathan you are immediately struck by his big smile and warm manner! He has a great ability to communicate well with children in both English and Japanese (this course is in English but we welcome everyone!) and he is a brilliant and enthusiastic teacher. Jonathon is a very structured and safety conscious, and our older students learn very well from his detail-rich courses.
Jonathon graduated from UEL (University Of East London) with a Bachelor of Arts Honours, a National Award in Performing Arts Management and a National Diploma in Drama & Performing Arts. He graduated from The British School for Performing Arts & Technology, London and also attended All Saints Stage School where he studied performing arts and Greenwich and Lewisham Young Peoples Theatre where he studied Drama. He has been a dance, performance and EFL teacher in Japan for some years and has thrown himself into learning about the culture and language. He has taught children of all ages and adults, and has also performed here. He appeared on ‘SONGS FOR YOU-のどじまんザワールド！！２０１４秋 Special, a Japanese TV show, singing ‘RPG’ by Sekai No Owari – for which he won the special trophy! In 2016 he performed at the 140th Anniversary of Shenshuu Elementary School as the first ALT to every sing at this event (Nada Sousou By BEGIN and A Whole New World from the Disney Movie Aladdin).

Parents are asked to contribute basic costume foundation for the show e.g. leggings and T-shirt. TBA
*Single Class Fee is ¥4,000 but ask us about buying blocks or discount for paying for the whole course
