Welcome to Super Stars! This is a very exciting programme where students have a diverse range of experiences and discoveries in English. Saturday School, students are exposed to useful and meaningful English words and phrases designed to assist and expand their communication skills, whilst being guided through fun scenarios and themes. We have a strong emphasis on play and games for positive language learning: Guessing games with friends, word puzzles, scavenger hunts, and even pantomime and theatre games help make the words sink in!

In the classroom, children will visit different places and times in which they can unleash their imaginations. We keep them happy, engaged and focus through games, songs, puzzles and role-play, building a love of learning English. In addition to fun role-play and drama, students also get to enjoy art and physical education linked to the theme. In art and crafts, students have to chance to use a wide variety of media to paint, sculpt, build, and weave beautiful creations. Physical education activities include challenges in our soft gym and on our rooftop playground, plus accessible songs and dances to get students moving and having fun!

LANGUAGE LEVEL

All language levels are accepted at Kspace: we will assess your child and recommend the best tailor-made programme from our service portfolio to suit their level and needs.

Very importantly, we have an 'English only' classroom—all course content is provided solely in English, using creative visuals and activities to gradually build language and communication skills.

AGE RANGE

There are two age/proficiency levels in Super Stars. Super Stars encourages friendships and cooperation, student- participation, and a real sense of group comradery where everyone can learn together. Both groups share a space and follow similar schedules and the same theme, but their activities differ in complexity and challenges. For special activities both classes come together for collaborative play and learning, with Navy students serving in leadership roles to guide their friends in Purple. Students also enjoy play and meal times together.

SUPER STARS PURPLE (Age 6 to 8 years)

Purple students are the younger age group. The content is designed for children to have fun and explore each themed session with useful and accessible English expressions, coupled with fun vocabulary and learning activities to further expand their communication skills. We emphasize lots of talking with friends, repetition, collaborative tasks and even friendly competition. Students also have the chance to develop phonics learning, plus letters and simple word formation on paper.

SUPER STARS NAVY (Age 8 to 9 years)

Our older Navy students get to enjoy all of the fun and creative elements of the Purple class with extra challenges appropriate to their age and skill level. The students learn more expansive vocabulary and expression, plus they get to practice foundation reading appropriate to course studies and in a group setting. Using their imaginations and growing abilities we discuss storytelling and interesting topics in more depth. The students take on more challenging art projects and are given increased responsibilities. They receive full guidance and support to help them gain confidence.

COURSE MATERIALS

• At Kspace, we are well known for creating custom activities and materials that keep our content unique and highly appealing:
• Visuals for classes are striking and memorable
• Flashcards are made specifically for each theme
• We incorporate high level hands-on exploration, sensory stimuli and science experiments
• Role-play and dramatic activities include costumes and a wide range of props, including props that the students create
• To add to the atmosphere classrooms are often transformed with exciting set pieces that the students create, such as life-sized animals, shops or interesting spaces to suit the theme

SUPER STARS THEME EXAMPLES

Our themes are designed to match the seasons as often as possible and to include highlights and events that children really enjoyed participating in across the calendar. We have a huge range of fabulous content and topics to draw from, that can take children all the way through from age 6 to 9 years old.

SUPER STARS DAILY SCHEDULE

• 8:00 – Breakfast Club (optional)
• 9:00 – Drop-Off and Morning Playtime
  Children sign in for the day and settle in with their friends for colouring or building toy play.
• 9:15 – Super Stars Purple and Navy groups move with their own special teachers to their respective classrooms.
• 9:20 – Morning Circle
  Teachers and children chat about the day’s activities, enjoy theme-based questions and fun and laughter are highly encouraged!
• 9:30 – English Language Focus
  Students learn the target expressions and vocabulary for the day.
• 10:30 – Snack and Playtime
  Purple and Navy groups join again to have a morning snack together. Following this, the students have group playtime on the rooftop (weather permitting), the soft gym, or the classroom. Purple and Navy divide afterwards.
• 11:00 – Arts and Crafts Time
  Students enjoy doing creative art projects or engaging crafts that are related to the day’s topic.
• 12:00 – Lunch and Playtime
  Purple and Navy groups have lunch together. Followed by PE and playtime on the rooftop or in the soft gym.
• 13:00 – Presentation Time - Purple and Navy divide. Students demonstrate the day's learning through role-play, drama, or song and dance! This time is also used for deeper looks into the day’s topic, such as science experiments.
• 13:50 – Reflection and Clean-Up
  Students look back on their favourite parts of the day with their teachers and get ready for home or afternoon classes.
• 14:00 – Pickup Time/Afternoon Classes

ADDITIONAL CLASSES

Students may attend afternoon classes which run until 5.00pm. In order to maximise exposure to English and cover a wider variety of topics, we offer exciting afternoon classes for Super Stars to enjoy as well! There is a great selection of classes to choose including Hip-Hop Dance, Broadway Dance, Cooking, Singapore Maths and English practice. Private Tuition is also offered.

SUPER STARS UNIFORM

All Kspace students must wear a full summer season or winter season school uniform. Super Stars either wear purple or navy uniforms, depending on their class placement. Students must wear plimsolls/uwabaki inside the school.
